2 years worth of Apples

So today is a special day for me.

On this day two years ago, I officially joined the world of Macintosh. Two years ago my incredible friends surprised me with this pretty cool tool I've used nearly every day since then. My iBook has been running for two years, and I'm happy to say I still love using it. Sure, it shows signs of wear. It's a laptop computer! But it is still running great. It's traveled miles and miles. It's been to Yangon and Mandalay, Bangkok and Chiang Mai, Thailand, Taipei, Taiwan, Berlin, Germany, California to Virginia, Michigan to Florida. It's been with me nearly everywhere I've been.

Thanks again to my friends for this incredible gift. I am still learning how to use it better and better. And sure, it's behind the standard for computers that are available today. But I don't mind. Sure, it can't do as many things as an Intel Mac can do. But I'm proud to say I was a Mac user in the Power PC days. Before the popular commercials. Before the Dual Core processors. Before the cool iSight came built in. It can still do a lot of things though. And it still does a lot of things better than any PC can do. And especially better than any PC running Vista can do.

And I still get excited when someone tells me they are making the switch to Mac.

Here's to two years on my 1.33 GHz 12 in. iBook G4. Going strong (in spite of its need of more RAM).

Later guys,
Matt

Happy 2 years!!! :) 10 months ago I sat in Florida on that very computer and made up my mind that I was buying a Mac when I got home. You changed my life, Matt. :-P

at any point in time, bill gates can demolish Apple since he owns so many shares. all he would have to do was sell his shares, and BAM! apple goes down.

be thankful for the PC guy.

Chloe, my Macbook, is very thankful for your post. She's hoping I'll write a similar message in a year. :)

Hey dude I would have invested in an iBook too if it weren't for my experiences with them being parallel to this guy's

The first part is true...media editing really is easier on a Mac, but, alas, I must use my laptop for many mor things than just the fun stuff............and PCs are better for that..............so I kind got forced into buying an HP DV6120 and expansion base. It's cool and all, but not like an iBook ......... (SIGH)
